The limescale crusher is a Danish invention from 1992 that causes lime in the water to precipitate as powder (aragonite) instead of hard limestone (calcite).

I developed a simple and functional identity, where the logo itself shows the idea of the product: the chalk is removed from the interior of the letters, leaving only clean lines and open pipes.

Challenge

The effect of the lime crusher is invisible.

Result

After the new identity was launched, Kalkknuser has grown from a profit of around DKK 200,000 in 2021 to over DKK 12 million.
